Original Christmas greeting card printed in black ink on white paper. One leaf folded in half with printed text on left interior panel and illustration on right interior panel. Illustration shows an angel holding a man with a portal-like spiral in the background. Outer panels are blank. The holiday message reads, "With the greetings and good wishes of May McNeer and Lynd Ward." No date, circa 1960s. 6" x 9" folded. One black-and-white illustration, complete. Card is very clean and intact except for minuscule age toning and a few wrinkles. A Fine copy. A Christmas card by May McNeer and Lynd Ward. May McNeer (1902-1992) was an American author and journalist. She attended the University of Georgia School of Journalism, where she was notably its first female undergraduate in her freshman year, and graduated from the Columbia School of Journalism in 1926. Many of her books were illustrated by her husband, Lynd Ward. Lynd Ward (1905-1985) was an American artist and author. He is perhaps best-known for his wordless novels featuring his own wood engravings which had a significant influence on the development of graphic novels.. Greeting Card.
