Brightly, one containing Mitchell's map of the the U.S., the other containing small maps of 32 cities plus economic and geographical statistics. The map of the American Republic extends west only to approximately the 95th degree meridian, but shows parts of the Iowa and Indian Territories and eastern Texas. Colored in pink, green and yellow. Both maps fold into an embossed gilded leather cover, 4.5" x 7.5" with a brass clasp. Front cover lettered in gilt below a radiating sun design; back cover with a design of an eagle surrounded by 26 stars, and above a partial earth & clouds with a "E Pluribus Unum" banner.
