Black and white illustrations by Harriet Wilmot Caldwell, complete. On the front free endpaper are the following: a former owner's inscription in black ink that reads, "To Mother -- from Elizabeth, Mothers-Day, May 9, 1926," and a red and white 2-cent postage stamp that shows George Washington kneeling by a tree with text above him that says, "1778--Valley Forge--1928." Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Edges of the text block have slight wear. A Fine copy. A collection of poems by members of the North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs. Includes an Introduction and a Foreword. Excerpt from the Introduction: "The material for this volume was collected in order to preserve the literary efforts of the women of the North Carolina Federation, and has been published with the hope of stimulating greater interest in creative writing in the state. Sympathy and understanding, not material rewards, are needed to encourage our writers to continue their work and if a measure of recognition is accorded them now we many some day be proud of a strong group of women writers representing North Carolina."
