Janet Lewis (1899-1998) was an American novelist, poet, and professor. She taught at both Stanford University and UC Berkeley in California. In 1992, Lewis was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. This broadside announces an event featuring poetry and music including a reading by Lewis. The time and place of the event is listed as "Sunday April 13, 1980, at 2:30 p.m., Sherman Fairchild Auditorium, Stanford University Medical Center" with a 'Reception Following.'" The following text is also printed: "Reading: Janet Lewis, Donald Davie, Helen Pinkerton Trimpi, N.
