Typescript for an episode of The Fleischmann's Yeast Hour that aired 8:00-9:00 p.m. on May 24, 1934. The Fleischmann's Yeast Hour (also known as The Rudy Vallee Show, The Fleischmann Yeast Hour, and The Fleischmann Hour) was a musical variety radio show that was broadcast on NBC from 1929-1936. In 1936, its name changed to The Royal Gelatin Show which aired until 1939. In its time, The Fleischmann's Yeast Hour was a top-rated program, and many actors and actresses made their debut on the show. Included in this episode are the following: sketch comedy with Tom Howard and George Sheldon; commercial for Fleischmann's Yeast; Laurence Langner's one-act play based on Robert Louis Stevenson's short story, The Sire de Maletroit's Door, starring Helen Chandler, Melvyn Douglas, and Ernest Lawford; another commercial for Fleischmann's Yeast; a comedy segment with Victor Moore; and script cuing various musical numbers..
