From 1946-1948, Pacific Pathways ran as a monthly magazine. Beginning with Vol. 3, No. 5, the magazine changed to a quarterly. Each issue is replete with black and white and color photographs of scenic areas and points of interest in various western states of the U.S. Each issue contains articles that give a brief tour of each featured destination. This issue contains the following articles: "Tour of the Month--Trail of the '49ers," "The Skunk" [about the Skunk Train], "Long Beach, Queen City," "Oregon Centennial" [centennial of the Oregon Territory], "Gulliver in the Olympics" [about a popular theory of how the fictional land of Brobdingnag in Gulliver's Travels was inspired by the Olympic Peninsula], "Garibaldi Hostel" [about Garibaldi Park, British Columbia, and its hostels for visitors], "Keep on Living" [about safe driving], "Armchair Travel" [five travel book recommendations], "Fresh Air Fashions" [fashion advice for travel], "Free Travel Service" [advises consulting a travel agent and advertises California Parlor Car Tours and Pan American World Airways], "Just for Fun," and "Camera Ways" [advocates for "good" composition in photos]..
