Original contemporary half binding with marbled boards and green leather on spine and corners. Faded gilt lettering on spine. 7 1/2 X 9 3/4 inches. 3 Volume Set. Set is complete. Volume I has 400 pages which include 7 pages of index and 42 black and white plates and a large fold out map. Map has a small tear which is not affecting illustrations on the map. Volume II has 440 pages which includes 6 pages of index and 44 black and white plates. Edge of back cover is slightly bumped. Volume III has 487 pages which include 8 pages of index and has 45 black and white plates. All plates are fully intact and complete. Each volume has a previous owners bookplate on the inside front cover which reads, "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding, Yvonne Lippert, May 6, 1961." Pennant (1726-1798) was a Welsh naturalist, traveler, writer and antiquarian. This is his account of the voyage he took to Scotland. Some foxing on some pages and plate. A previous owner wrote in pencil along the margin on a few pages. Pages are clean and complete. Binding is tight.. Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Hardcover
