Elephant folios: 17 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches (44.5 x 29 cm). This set is offered as is: Volume 4 is missing two plates, nos. 24 and 110, and one folding plate, no. 2, is torn in half at the center (without loss). Plates are sometimes bound out of sequence in all volumes. Volume 6 is missing four pages of text, pages 83-86, and a couple of text pages are misbound in volume 1. All volumes exhibit foxing that waxes and wanes throughout each, meaning that text leaves and plates are alternately clean or show light to moderate, or even heavy, foxing. Originally bound in half morocco with marbled boards, all bookblocks are out of their bindings, which are present. However, some backstrips show loss of leather and/or are split along one joint. Ex library, with only bookplates at pastedowns and markings on title-pages. The set is offered with all faults.
