Much of the information is taken from notes collected by him, both in this country and while associated with Mr. James Platt, Member of Council of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, who has done so much to further the development of high pressure hydraulic machinery. A number of the tables have been specially compiled and others taken from Mr. William Kent's 'Mechanical Engineer's Pocket Book,' Mr. Henry Adams's 'Hand-book for Mechanical Engineers.' and other engineering note-books.".
