Original publisher's beige cloth binding backed with red cloth. Gilt lettering on spine and the parts of the red cloth that wrap around on front and back. Printed black lettering on covers and edges of text block. 9 1/2" x 11" x 3." 1720 pages, complete. Many advertisements, some of which are illustrated in black-and-white, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for slight age toning and the occasional small mark. Covers are very clean and intact except for slight darkening and rubbing, a small bump on fore-edge of front cover, slight corner wear, and minimal fading to spine. Binding is tight. A Very Good copy. The 1937 Polk's business directory for San Francisco published by R. L. Polk & Company. A multitude of businesses are listed. "Classified" tab on fore-edge of text block. R. L. Polk & Company was founded in 1870 by Ralph Lane Polk in Detroit, Michigan as a publisher of business directories. After several acquisitions, mergers, and sales, R. L.
