A fine copy in the original 1/4 pale green cloth, pictorial boards as issued. The book consists of 143 foolscap-size duplicated typescript pages, containg text and line drawings. Extremely scarce. Judo was introduced to South Africa by the late Professor Jack Robinson. In 1934 he immigrated to South Africa from England and was taught Judo and Ju-jitsu by the founder of British Judo, Yukio Tani. Prof. Robinson, being a British champion in Cumberland and Westmoreland styles of wrestling, incorporated this knowledge into Judo. The Judo he taught did initially not include Ne-waza (ground work). Prof Robinson instructed police recruits in the art of self-defense.
