Much that the public has never known about this man who has been acclaimed "the nation's favorite sports personality" is revealed here for the first time. Roger Staubach is a man of deeply held convictions and carefully considered opinions. In this honest, direct, and fascinating report, the No. 1 all-time NFL quarterback answers the questions that fans and sportswriters have wondered about all through his career. His answers are refreshingly frank, and they are more comprehensive than ever has been possible through interviews. Here are the eye-opening sections that explain: *How Staubach feels about Coach Tom Landry - their personal relationship and their disagreement over who should call the plays.; *Roger's assessment of controversial teammates and opponents such as "Hollywood" Henderson, Bob Hayes, Clint Longley, Duane Thomas, and Washington Redskin tackle Diron Talbert.; *The fact behind his decision to retire, and his future as a CBD sports commentator, as a business investor, and as a family man.; *His reflections of Super Bowls VI, X, XII, and XIII, as well as "the most thrilling 60 minutes I ever spent on a football field," the 35-34 win over the Redskins in 1979.; *The Staubach faith and the Staubach family - anchors for a stormy, dangerous career. Roger Staubach: TIME ENOUGH TO WIN is no mere armchair survey of a glorious past. It's a bold, heads-up look into the future, both his own and that of the Dallas Cowboys. But more than anything else, this is a book about values: about winning and competition, revenge and forgiveness, faith and materialism, sports and society's needs. With humor and with pride, Roger Staubach looks back at his football career and ahead to a whole new future, and finds that in life, if not always in football, there is time enough to win. ROGER STAUBACH (Roger Thomas Staubach), nicknamed "Roger the Dodger", "Captain America" and "Captain Comeback", is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he won the 1963 Heisman Trophy, and after graduation he served in the U.S. Navy, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Staubach joined Dallas in 1969 and played with the club during all 11 seasons of his career. He led the team to the Super Bowl five times, four as the starting quarterback. He led the Cowboys to victories in Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII. Staubach was named Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl VI, becoming the first of four players to win both the Heisman Trophy and Super Bowl MVP, along with Jim Plunkett, Marcus Allen, and Desmond Howard. He was named to the Pro Bowl six times during his 11-year NFL career. He was the executive chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle until his retirement in 2018. He is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time.. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Fair
