The front end page and preface have both been signed by the author, Alan Rudd, in ink. It is likely that the Rudd family once owned this copy, as there is a plate on the front pastedown with "Mr. & Mrs. A. W. Rudd" on it. The boards are the slightest touch rubbed and edge worn, but remain strong and square, with fine gold gilt on the front and spine.
