(London, H. Bailliere, 3rd edition, 1839)

With an account of the diseases of the genito-urinary organs which impair or destroy the reproductive function, and induce a variety of complaints; with the physiology of generation in the vegetable and animal kingdoms; part of a course of obstetric lectures delivered at the North London School of Medicine, Charlotte Street, Bloomsbury, Bedford Square. Small octavo, contemporary cloth well-worn, title-label on the spine illegible, pp. viii + 388 + (4: publisher's advertisements). Corners bumped, hinges tender, some browning, foxing and fingering, a few marks. Fair. 'Excessive venery is a common cause of sterility in women. The debility of the uterine system by promiscuous and too frequent intercourse, is the cause of infecundity in prostitutes and others. But when these persons reform and marry, and confine themselves to one individual, the uterus gradually regains its power, and conception occurs often. Many proofs of this were given by prostitutes, who were transported to Van Diemen's land, and there became mothers.'
