Front cover shows an illustration of a man in uniform smelling a flower with a wistful look on his face. 10 1/2" x 13 3/4." Eight pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Magazine is clean and intact overall but there is slight rubbing to front and back, a small purple streak on back, light age toning throughout, and a few small chips and close tears along edges (mostly limited to margins). A Very Good copy. The March 22, 1946 issue of Wing Tips magazine. "Published every Friday by and for the military personnel of the field [Mather Field]." The magazine includes news from Mather Field and other stories and articles that are relevant to military personnel at Mather. [jokes and comics section]. Mather Field was the predecessor of Mather Air Force Base (AFB). During World War II, Mather AFB was a noted United States air base and training school for pilots, navigators, observers, and bombardiers. Under the Base Realignment and Closure Commission (BRAC), Mather AFB was decommissioned in 1993.
