A near fine copy in the original dark blue boards, light staining lower corner front board, else a clean tight copy. Of the utmost rarity, this is the only copy we have seen offered for sale in 30 years of trading in Africana, and indeed only the second copy of any of the three editions to appear for sale. . Although designated "Third Edition", this is in fact the first edition in this form. The two previous editions, compiled by Skota and issued in 1930 and 1932, covered the whole of Africa, whereas this volume is confined to the Transvaal.
