Some occasional foxing, little wear to ends of faded backstrip, good otherwise. - With the author's presentation inscription: "To the Rev. E.J.W. Koch with the kindest regards of the Author London 14th May 1877" to which is added his tiny tipped-in photographic medallion portrait (Ø ca. 1.5cm). The presentee was the Dutch Reverend Egbert Johannes Wernhard Koch (1828-1895) . A second inscription reads: "Ter gedachtenis aan E,J.W. Koch is dit boek afgestaan aan haren zwager A.S.J. Koch door de Wed. E.J.W. Koch 22 Maart 1896, Scheveningen". - At the end of the book the pages 391-438 contain "Selections from the Fauna of Banffshire" by Thomas Edward.
