Inscription and drawing are done in black ink on front free endpaper. Original publisher's light green paper-covered boards backed with dark brown cloth. Light green paper label (now darkened to brown) with black lettering on spine. 5 1/4" x 7 3/4." 246 pages, complete. Former owner's book plate with an owl in a library on front pastedown with "Robert Young, Jr." written on it. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Paper on boards have light to moderate browning, mostly toward the edges. Paper spine label is darkened. Slight wear to extremities of covers. Pages slightly age-toned. A Very Good copy. A fictionalized account of a newsroom with character portraits inspired by people in real life. Henry Justin Smith (1875-1936) was the managing editor of the Chicago Daily News.. Book.
