Original publisher's multicolored wrapper with an illustration of a detailed embroidery that shows a scene in which a man in debtors' prison is freed by another man who brings a bag of gold; the debtor's family is shown rejoicing (the author believes the scene is inspired by Oliver Goldsmith's novel, The Vicar of Wakefield). 10" x 12 3/4." Pages 157-208, complete. Many black and white illustrations and advertisements throughout magazine, complete. Advertisements are antique-related. Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Small former ownership inscription in upper-right corner of front cover in blue ink. The Magazine Antiques was first published in 1922 and focuses on interior design, architecture, fine and decorative art, and antique items. It is still published to this day.
