Collection of two original printed promotional ephemera from the Mars Grand Rug Company of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Printed in black ink on light beige paper. The two materials are in letter form (they are either a two-page letter or two separate letters but are likely a single letter). The latter page is signed in faint black ink by the company's treasurer, Ann Percelay (?). September 15, 1922. 8 1/2" x 11." Two pages. Pages are very clean and intact except for horizontal and vertical fold lines and a faint smudge in right margin on first page. Very Good copies. A collection of two promotional ephemera from the Mars Grand Rug Co. The pages' letterheads read, "The Mars Grand Rug Co., Manufacturers of 'Lightnin" & Nu-Twill" Rugs, from the Finest of Cotton Yarns, Pawtucket, Rhode Island." The letter is addressed to Chas. (Charles) F. Nelson of Olalla, Washington, who may be a dealer. The letter promotes the company's rugs and prices. The following is an introductory excerpt from the letter: "We are manufacturing an All Cotton Yarn bedroom, bathroom and bungalow rug, practically for any room in the house, any season of the year. The constituents of the articles are, the finest cotton yarns available, woven in the most durable manner and made in the most appealing patterns conceivable.
