Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Small black-and-white illustration of the Placer Herald office printed at top. Also includes handwriting in black ink. Datelined November 11, 1893 California. 8 1/2" x 12 1/2." Billhead is fairly clean and intact overall but has light age toning, a pencil mark at top that may be a cancellation mark, several small stains throughout, light to moderate soiling at top, a few horizontal fold lines, slight wrinkling, small closed tears and chips at the edges, and a hole measuring about 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" that affects five line items in the months of March and April 1893. A Good copy. An original billhead from the Placer Herald of Auburn, California to "Mr. W. A. Freeman." The Placer Herald is a Northern California newspaper that was founded in 1855. The newspaper was published in Auburn until 1966 when it moved to Rocklin, California. The Placer Herald is still published to this day by Gold Country Media and currently serves the city of Rocklin. Twenty-four line items were purchased between January 18 and October 18, 1893. Among the items are "2000 Letter Heads," "2000 Envelopes," "1000 Statements, and "1500 Cards, 2 sides." The printed header reads, "To the Placer Herald, Dr.; Subscription, $2.50 a Year; Newspaper, Book and Job Printing Office. J. A. Filcher, - Prop." An inscription at bottom shows payment was received.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Good. Binding: No Binding
