A short hand-written letter inside an envelope, also addressed in the poet's hand, loosely inserted. "Aberdaron, Pwllheli. Dear Mr Yates, Thank you for your kind letter. You have the right name; I hope you write poetry too!. It was heroic of you to watch the programme. I do not have television myself. Yours sincerely, R. S. Thomas. 6. iv. 72." Envelope is addressed to to "The Reverend John Yates." Slim small 8vo, slightly stained along lower edges, pages slightly browned, a generally sound copy in a wrapper that lacks small portion from spine and is chipped at head and tail and also along bottom margin of rear cover. SCARCE.
