Book club edition hardcover, with a new foreword by the author. Books are boxed in a faded black slipcase with red paste-on set title to the side showing light wear. "The Fellowship of the Ring" (Second Revised Edition, fourth printing) is in very good condition with bright gold lettering on spine and gilt and scarlet design on the front black board. Dust jacket shows some fading and tape repair to one tear to spine and tape reinfocement to inside bottom edge. "The Two Towers" (Second Revised Edition, third printing) is in very good condition with bright gold lettering on spine and gilt and scarlet design on the front black board. Dust jacket has small tear to spine tape mended. "The Return of the King" (Second Revised Edition, third printing) is in very good condition, with bright gold lettering on the spine and and gilt and scarlet design on the front black board. Dust jacket with minor rubbing. The top edge of the pages on each of the books matches the color of the corresponding DJ. Fold-out map in the rear of each book.
