Part of the series "The Canadian Historical Studies : A Library of Historical Research", this volume contains "Remarks of the Voyages of John Meares" by George Dixon, "An Answer to Mr. George Dixon" by John Meares, and "Further Remarks on the Voyages of John Meares" by George Dixon. John Meares (c. 1756-1809) and George Dixon (1748-1795) were both fur traders and explorers. In 1790, Meares published a book in which he criticized Dixon. Dixon answered with a pamphlet accusing Meares of claiming discoveries that were made by others. Meares answering pamphlet and Dixon's final pamphlet are also included.. Book.
