Originally published in the Pasadena Star, Pasadena, California, April 13, 1907. Ina Coolbrith (1841-1928) was a California poet, called "The Sweet Singer of California". She was also a prominent member of the San Francisco Bay Area literary community. Her home was destroyed in the 1906 San Francisco fire, and this article relates the efforts of her literary colleagues to raise money to build her another. The article includes letters from George Wharton James and Joaquin Miller, and poems by Charles Stoddard and Jessie Juliet Knox. The home was acquired, and Miss Coolbrith went on to be the first California Poet Laureate.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
