The letter offers a fascinating insight to local, contemporary beliefs. The writer asks for a copy of an address by "Prof A R Wallace" titled "If a man die[s] shall he live again?" He writes: "...most especially do I desire to read what he has to say upon the proof afforded by Spiritualism of a natural immortality...." "I am in a section of our country wedded to old theological dogmas. I see nothing and know nothing of the claims of spiritualism.
