First Edition. 4 vols, fine copies in the original printed wrappers as issued. The 4th item with the original yellow printed publisher's presentation slip attached. Each song inscribed presentations in the composer's hand "To K.G. from Theophil Wendt New York Oct. 1929". "K.G." was Karl Gundelfinger, noted South African businessman, patron of the arts and music, and a skilled violonist who pioneered the growth of music in Natal. Wendt's sheet music is relatively uncommon, and inscribed copies much more so. The relative roles of Wendt and Gundelfinger in South Africa are described in the Dictionary of South African Biography vols 4 and 5 respectively.
