Original publisher's beige paper wrappers. Title inset within a black-and-white illustration of a tree-lined avenue on front cover. No date, circa 1865-1890s. 5 1/4" x 8 1/2." Pages 79-91, complete. Five black-and-white plates, complete. Each plate shows a portrait of William Wordsworth. Printed by T. and A. Constable. Text printed on back: "Edinburgh University Press: T. and A. Constable, Printers to Her Majesty." Pages are clean and intact overall but are slightly age-toned and have a few small closed tears at the edges. Binding is a bit loosened, so some leaves may be detached. Covers are intact but have significant darkening and a few small dampstains to front and back, wear to the edges, and chipping along the spine. A Good copy. A commemorative collection of five plates showing the noted English poet, William Wordsworth (1770-1850). Each plate is accompanied by a description of the artist and background on the depicted artwork. The following are the artworks depicted in the plates: Miniature Profile on Ivory (1841) by Margaret Gillies, Wordsworth upon Helvellyn (1842) by B. R. Haydon, Portrait (1844) by Henry Inman, Bust (1844) by Angus Fletcher, and Statue (1852) by Frederick Thrupp. Printed by T. and A. Constable, a Scottish printing and publishing firm founded by Thomas Constable (1812-1881). The company was first known by Thomas's name. His son, Archibald Constable (1843-1915), joined the firm in 1865, and it became T. and A. Constable. Thomas retired in 1893, but the company continued operations under the "T. and A.
