Original broadside on white paper with lettering and illustration printed in black. 17" x 22." A stylized illustration of Janet Lewis by Elaine Badgley covers most of the broadside. All of the text is printed below or to the side of the illustration. Broadside is very clean and intact but has a few wrinkles. A Fine copy. Janet Lewis (1899-1998) was an American novelist, poet, and professor. She taught at both Stanford University and UC Berkeley in California. In 1992, Lewis was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. This broadside announces an event featuring poetry and music including a reading by Lewis. The time and place of the event is listed as "Sunday April 13, 1980, at 2:30 p.m., Sherman Fairchild Auditorium, Stanford University Medical Center" with a 'Reception Following.'" The following text is also printed: "Reading: Janet Lewis, Donald Davie, Helen Pinkerton Trimpi, N.
