Plus [unpaginated] half-title with b/w illus to its verso,title page,and contents list/table.Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,publisher's original full green series binding with a design in black and gold by Eccles - rear view of a male figure with an aloft-held fire-brand in front of natives' spears to front and smaller circular illustrated vignette to rear bd and immaculate plain dark green eps.Spine/backstrip inevitably but lightly sunned/ faded so slightly discoloured,with the title+publisher lettered in bright, crisp,stamped black ink within bright, crisp stamped gilt label-boxes on said spine/backstrip.Top edges coloured green, fore-edges white,bright and clean; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners - appears unread apart from my own collation.Set in Linottro Ehrhardt (11-pt) with Gill Shadow for display.Typeset by Fakenham Photosetting,printed and bound by the Bath Press,Avon. Includes short stories by Kipling,Conan Doyle,Grant Allen,Richard Marsh,Edgar Wallace,Richmal Compton,'Sapper' and Graham Greene amongst others.
