Original publisher's gray cardboard wrappers with staple binding. Dark blue lettering and illustration on front cover. Publication is dated 1938. The time tables include the months from May to March, presumably from 1938-1939. 3 1/2" x 6 1/4." Unpaginated, forty pages, complete. Includes former owner's markings in pencil, most, if not all, of which pertain to keeping time. Pencil notations appear in the tables, margins, and blank memorandum pages for notes. Pages are clean and intact overall except for age toning. Covers are virtually pristine and intact except for a slight vertical crease on front and back and a small spot at bottom of front cover. A Very Good copy. Original train service time book. Most of the pages with time tables are filled in with pencil. Tables are presumably filled in for May 1938 through March 1939. The following fields are filled in for each month: "Date," "Eng. No.," "Train No.," "Miles," "Name of Engineer, Fireman, Conductor or Brakeman," and "Amount." The following time computing tables are printed in back: "Table Showing Time and One-half for Overtime (18 3/4 Miles Per Hour) Expressed in Miles. Applicable to Road Freight, Transfer and Yard Switching Service, from 3 Minutes to 8 Hours Inclusive" and "Table Showing Time After Which Overtime Accrues on Runs 100 Mile to 199 Miles in Length, on Speed Basis of 12 1/2 Miles Per Hour." Inside of back cover has a calendar for 1939. Promotional printed text appears intermittently in the publication for the Benefit Association of Railway Employees (BARE).
