The dustjacket is scuffed, rubbed, marked, worn all about. It is secure and sure. The boards have not been blessed with careful ownership. They have wear, stains, marks all about. Nonetheless, they are assured and steady. The contents are aged. Due to paper quality, the pages have tanning (mostly about the edges). Albert van der Sandt Centlivres (13 January 1887–19 September 1966) was Chief Justice of South Africa from 1950 to 1957 Centlivres studied at the South African College (now the University of Cape Town) and at New College, Oxford. He was called to the bar in 1910 and took silk in 1927. In 1935 he was appointed a judge of the Cape Provincial Division, and in 1939 he became a Judge of Appeal in the Appellate Division, South Africa's highest court..
