This title seems to be rather scarce.; Set in England during the time of the Napoleonic Wars, this is the story of sixteen-year-old Elizabeth Montgomery, daughter of a British naval captain. Elizabeth regrets she is not a boy as due to inheritance laws, when her father dies her cousin Pierre Rochambeau, is heir to the Montgomery estate and guardian to Elizabeth. Her cousin is Irish and worst of all French (!) and Elizabeth deeply resents his presence and control over her life. Some mysterious events occur and Elizabeth of course must investigate which leads to a variety of adventures. An enjoyable read for junior high age and those that enjoy Regency novels., 178 pages, Good+.
