The Circassian Bride was first produced at theTheatre Royal in on 23rd February 1809. The next night the theatre was burnt to the ground! All the scores of the opear were lost. A few songs and the overture have survived included the above. Bishop was Composer and Director of Music at the Theatre Royal Covent Garden [1786-1855] and was the first musician ever to be knighted.. Printed Music. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: paper wrappers
