Cassmore, Orin : Editorial Corrections and Notes Manuscript for 'Arizona Report'

Editorial corrections and notes for "Arizona Report" for the WPA in Arizona, 1938. Three page signed manuscript, dated March 10, 1938, and also a telegram copy (3 pages) of the manuscript and one additional related telegram. Orin Cassmore (1909-1988) was the author of two important WPA publications: MIGRATORY COTTON PICKERS IN ARIZONA (1939) with Malcolm Johnston; and PECAN SHELLERS OF SAN ANTONIO (1940) with Selden C. Menefoe. The corrections and notes in this manuscript were done to correct and add to his "Arizona Report" and were prepared for his Supervisor John N. Webb in Washington, DC. In the manuscript Cassmore writes that "one Las Cruces gower kidnapped a truckload colored from Chandler fields" and that "many camps talking of going and taking it (relief aid) if they won't give it to us." Cassmore likely graduated from the University of Washington in 1931. After 1848 he seems to have disappeared from public life. Slight chipping along the edges of the telegraph letters, otherwise clean copies.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
