DR. AARON JEFFREY : 1880s ORIGINAL GROUP OF THREE [3] MANUSCRIPT ANTEBELLUM STYLE SHORT STORIES HANDWRITTEN BY A RICHMOND VIRGINIA DOCTOR IN 'NEGRO DIALECT'

4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. On offer is a super group of three [3] stories handwritten in the 1880s by Dr Aaron Jeffrey, a doctor from Richmond, Virginia. All are written in 'Negro Dialect' for which the doctor proves he has a keen ear and all are themed upon the lives of African Americans. The first is an 11 page handwritten story is entitled 'Old Reuben's Curiosity'. The second is entitled 'Isham's Acquittal'. It is the story of an African American stealing chickens. It is 7 pages long and is in very good condition. The third is a 20 page handwritten story entitled Aunt Patsy's Strategy. All in Good+ condition. Included is an early CDV of Aaron Jeffery from 1883 taken in Richmond.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Very Good
