This rare English edition of Du Halde’s description of China shows the area around what is now present day Hong Kong with very good detail. In addition there is a Map of Quang-Tong (Quangdong) showing the relief and the isle of Hay-Nan. Observed latitudes and geometrically determinate longitudes from positions from where the map was compile can be observed in the lower right corner in a table. The English edition \\\"Description of the Empire of China and Chinese Territory, together with the kingdoms of Korea and Tibet, from the French\\\" was printed in London and contains newly engraved plates. The English edition is much more rare than both the French and the Dutch edition.
