The first English-language edition (first printing), issued here eleven years after the original Austrian edition which was published under the title 'Die Blendung'. 8vo. 464pp. Black cloth lettered in silver at the spine and with the publisher's black top edge stain. The tiniest trace of wear to the cloth at several extremities, and some light spotting to the margins of the half-title and title page. Contemporary former owner bookplate to the front pastedown. Very good indeed in the uncommon dust wrapper, non-price-clipped, but quite toned at the spine panel, with a little further light toning to the margins of the front and rear panels, a touch of light edgewear resulting in several tiny slivers of loss, and with a short tear to the base of the spine panel.
