Black lettering on light yellow spine. 8" x 11." Pages 321-427, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Advertisements for books, bookstores, and similar items and businesses in the back. Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Binding is tight. Slight rubbing to covers and spine. Slight wear to corners and edges. Boards have light age toning throughout. Slight bumping to corners of the covers, head and tail of spine, and bottom corner of the pages on the fore-edge. A Near Fine copy. Back colophon: "This Part Four of the First Volume of The New Colophon, published by Duschnes Crawford, Inc., at New York, continues the franchise of the original Colophon, established in 1928 and published by Pynson Printers, Inc., at New York. The New Colophon was printed by The Anthoensen Press of Portland, Maine, and distributed to twenty-five hundred subscribers in the month of October, nineteen hundred and forty-eight." The New Colophon was a limited-edition, quarterly book collectors' periodical that was published from 1948-1950. It was the successor toThe Colophon which had been established in 1928 by Elmer Adler (1884-1962), the founder of Pynson Printers in New York City.
