Original advertisement on cardboard for Elmer P. Morris in New York. Features a color illustration of a woman wearing a yellow dress and blue hat and holding yellow flowers. This illustration covers about 2/3 of the board from top to bottom. No date, circa 1910s-1920s. 4" x 9." Board is clean and intact overall but there are some creases. Printed text reads, "Elmer P. Morris; Established 1895; Iron and Steel Products, Electrical and Mechanical Supplies, Plain and Ornamental Iron Poles, Gray Iron Castings, Brass and Bronze Castings, Forgings, Contactors' Equipment, New and Second-Hand Electric Appartus, Machine Tools, Export and Domestic; Phones, Rector: 5775, 5776; 126 Liberty Street, New York." Printer is listed as "Hayes Litho. Co., Buffalo, N.Y." Elmer P. Morris was also known as Elmer P. Morris Iron Works, a foundry that specialized in manufacturing poles for both gas and electric street lights in cities. The Hayes Lithographing Company was founded in 1900 by Herman Koerner, Herman Cosack, and Charles Hayes. Its predecessor was Koerner & Hayes which had been founded in 1881.
