Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Dust jacket shows sunning also with a 1/2" tear at top edge of back cover (with portrait of author) and chipping at folds, upper and lower spine. Not price clipped, now wrapped in protective cover. Inscribed on front endpaper with message to buyer ending "with love, Madeleine, Advent, 1982": appears to be to a friend or known person. Publisher's page has the words "First printing" with date..
