Corners and spine slightly worn and rubbed, pages browned and occasionally foxed, small neat ink ownership signature otherwise a remarkably clean and soud copy of a scarce item of black American history. The hero of these adventures is a young black American, not a slave, but a free servant of an enlightened family living by choice in Philadelphia, "the capital of a State where no species of slavery is allowed."
