Original card game, Flinch, in a yellow and red cardboard box. Top lid is yellow with black lettering. Box, 150 cards, and eleven-panel paper instructions, complete. Each card shows a number between "1" and "15"; there are ten of these fifteen-card series in this Flinch deck. Red and white pattern on back of cards. Box measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/2." Cards measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/2." Box, instructions and cards are very clean and intact overall. Box has slight rubbing and a few marks on top and bottom. Instructions are clean and intact but one vertical fold is almost split through. Cards have slight age toning and occasional wrinkle or tiny closed tear. A Very Good copy. Flinch is a card game in which players try to get rid of their ten-card "Flinch pile" by stockpiling and playing cards in their hand on other piles. The instructions market Flinch as being "more simple than Authors; more scientific than Whist." The game is designed for two to eight players, but more players can join by adding another Flinch deck. Also includes instructions for Muggins, Stock Exchange, Authors, Patience, and Go to Store. Flinch was invented in 1901 by A. J. Patterson. He founded the Flinch Card Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan.. Original card game, Flinch, in a dark red cardboard box with one lid. Black lettering on lid. Lid can be placed on one of the open sides of the sleeve to make a card holder. No date, circa 1900s-1910s. Box and 152 cards, complete. 150 playing cards. Two additional cards included, a title card for Flinch and a card advertising another game by the Flinch Card Co., Roodles. Each card shows a number between "1" and "15"; there are ten of these fifteen-card series in this Flinch deck. Red and white pattern on back of cards. Box measures 2 1/2" x 3 3/4." Cards measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/2." Box and cards are clean and intact overall. Box sustains the most wear with all-around edge wear and some rubbing and surface chipping. Box has some tape repair. Cards are moderately soiled and darkened but still intact and playable. A Very Good copy.
