The binding gently cocked, with some bruising to the backstrip ends, and the cloth a little marked in places. Some light spotting to the edges and endpapers. The front hinge cracked but sound. This copy from the library of Sybil and Lewis Casson [i.e. Sybil Thorndike, Lady Casson), with her inked inscription to the front free endpaper, and her occasional inked underlinings and annotations. A good copy in price-clipped and quite lightly rubbed, creased and dust soiled dust wrapper. An authoritative biography of the great theatrical innovator Edward Gordon Craig, penned by his son. A nice association copy (Giving the address at her memorial service John Gielgud called Thorndike "the most loved actress since Ellen Terry", who was of course Craig's mother).. Book.
