Photographs by Carl Austin Hyatt. Texts by Russell Lord and Tom Crockett. Printed, using the most advanced digital scanning technology, on pristine-white, thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is outstanding in every respect: Its crispness, warmth, and tonal range do justice to the photographer's subtly exquisite palette. In matching pictorial DJ with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Presents Carl Austin Hyatt's "Photographs". The landscape and female nude photographs of an American artist who is better-known as an immensely successful commercial photographer. Like his great predecessors in Tom Baril, among others, Carl Austin Hyatt is an impeccable printer/craftsman/art designer with an American Romantic sensibility. His commitment (after the necessary commercial work is done) is to the majestic American landscape, whose beauty could never quite be exhausted by the photographing eye, and to the female form. Ditto. As produced, these are sublime images, paying homage to Nature and Woman as few contemporary photographers have either the means, technical expertise, and just as important, artistic commitment at their disposal. An absolute "must-have" title for Carl Austin Hyatt collectors. This copy of the Limited Edition is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully signed, dated, and inscribed in black fountain pen on the front free endpaper by the photographer: "For Paul, All best blessings, Carl Austin Hyatt 4/11/08". It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. The recipient, Paul Berlanga, who is named, is the Chicago-based photography expert and important artist/painter. It is also very prominently and beautifully numbered in black fountain pen on the title page by the publisher ("#162"), but the limitation is not stated in its entirety. This title is a contemporary art photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only such signed, dated, and inscribed copy of the Limited Edition available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. A rare signed copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with photographic plates. One of the most brilliant American photographers of our time. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO BOB KOLBRENER TITLE IN OUR CATALOG).
