Datelined May 7, 1869 in San Francisco, California. 8 1/2" x 7." Billhead is clean and intact overall. Paper has a few horizontal fold lines. Two large but somewhat faded brown spots are on the right third of the billhead. Text and handwriting can still be read. The handwritten portions include the name of the customer, the item(s) purchased, and the price of the item(s). The customer was "A.[?] Cohn & Co." There are four lines of purchased items. The printed letterhead reads, "[Customer] Bought of A. Jacobs & Co., Importers and Jobbers of Hats and Caps, Hatters' Stock, Etc. 312 California Street, between Battery and Sansome."
