Original publisher's multicolored paper wrappers with a color illustration on the front cover by Lawrence of a woman in a green outfit holding an axe, behind whom is the spectral figure of a Viking, also holding an axe. Yet another axe-wielding figure is in the foreground, an older man who warily looks toward the woman. Illustration accompanies one of this issue's stories, "Her Ways Are Death." White spine with black lettering. 6 1/2" x 9 1/2." 114 pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations by Lawrence, Finlay, and Bok, complete. Advertisements are interspersed throughout. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Pages are fragile and age-toned. Some chipping at the edges and spine. A few small pieces of tape at head and tail of spine. Covers are cut along the edges but this may be original. A Very Good Copy. Famous Fantastic Mysteries was a science fiction and fantasy pulp magazine edited by Mary Gnaedinger. The first issue appeared in 1939. Its popularity quickly led to the publication of a companion magazine, Fantastic Novels. The last issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries was published in 1953. The June 1952 issue. The following are in this issue: a full-length feature, "Her Ways Are Death," by Jack Maun; two short stories, "Gentlemen, Be Seated" by Robert Heimlein and "I'll Take Care of You" by Oliver La Forge"; and three features, "The Readers' Viewpoint," "In the Next Issue," and "To an Aztec Relic" by Paul Wilson [a poem]..
