Original publisher's green paper-covered boards backed with black cloth in a yellow and black paper dust jacket. Silver-foil lettering on book spine. Dust jacket wrapped in mylar. 5" x 7 1/2." 222 pages, complete. Two additional pages in the back, an author's biography and an advertisement for another book. Pages and covers of the book are virtually pristine and intact except for a vertical crease on front free endpaper (affects inscription but inscription is still intact), age toning to the pages, and minuscule wear to tail of spine. Binding is tight. Dust jacket is very clean and intact overall except for slight rubbing and minimal age toning. Dust jacket not price-clipped. No remainder marks. A Fine book in a Fine dust jacket. A collection of ten of the author's short stories, four of which are noted on the flap as having never been published before. Charles Jackson (1903-1968) was an American author. He is best-known for his semi-autobiographical novel, The Lost Weekend, in which alcoholism is portrayed with unflinching realism. The Lost Weekend was based on Jackson's own struggles with alcoholism. Walter Kerr (1913-1996) was an American writer and theater critic. Walter won the 1978 Pulitzer Prize for Criticism for his writings about theater. Walter was married to Jean Kerr (1922-2003), an Irish-American playwright and fellow writer. Jean famously wrote, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, a collection of humorous essays about suburban life and raising four boys.. Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: Fine
