Original publisher's beige paper wrappers. Text printed in black ink. 5" x 8." Fifty pages, complete. Pages are clean and intact overall except for light age toning throughout, moderate foxing, a possible faint dampstain in lower-right corner on front, chipping along spine, a split along front outer joint measuring about 1 3/4" from head of spine, and tiny dark spots along limited to edges of text block (unclear if discoloration or printed decorations). A Very Good copy. This is a collection of reprinted documents relating to recent British acts of espionage that were committed against the United States. President James Madison introduces said documents to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. His introduction accuses the British government "through its public minister here, a secret agent of that government was employed in certain states, more especially at the seat of government in Massachusetts, in fomenting disaffection to the constituted authorities of the nation, and in intrigues with the disaffected, for the purpose of brining about resistance to the laws, and, and eventually, in concert with a British force, of destroying the union, and forming the eastern part thereof into a political connection with Great Britain." The documents that follow vary in length (some are only a brief paragraph; others are several pages) and are by different authors including John Henry, Herman W. Ryland, J. H. Craig, "A. B." (possible alias of John Henry), and Robert Peel. Parts of the correspondence have been redacted with printed dashes and asterisks.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Soft cover
