Legal Reference / Laws. James Zera Oviatt (June 2, 1888 - March 26, 1974) was a world-renown Los Angeles haberdasher and a member of the John Birch Society. He was also a supporter of Christian Identity minister Wesley Swift. James Oviatt filed a lawsuit for $10,200,000.00 against the ADL, its director, Milton A. Senn, and the Jewish press for libel and invasion of privacy. The ADL countersued him for $600,000 saying Oviatt issued a pamphlet claiming the ADL is a "Jewish Gestapo". The pamphlet quotes heavily from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The Jews also accused Oviatt of sending copies of Conde McGinley's anti-Jewish Common Sense newspaper to his credit charge customers. Jack Tenny acted as Oviatt's attorney. The James Oviatt Building art deco highrise is named after him. Booklet. In good condition, some wear to edges, as normal for age. Overall good copy of this scarce title. Excellent read. A good book to enjoy and keep on hand. Or would make a great gift for the fan / reader in your life. 24 pages. Booklet has spots and foxing, but interior is clean and not marked.. Book.
